Lino-cut demonstration by Melisse Carr

With summer coming to an end, Borderland Arts will move back to the college where we will be having a demonstration on Stamp and printmaking by Melisse Carr. Join us Thursday, September 7th from 6 to 8 PM at the Bay West campus room 114 downstairs (the art room across from Fornetti Hall). I really hope to see everyone there. Our members go to great lengths to make classes that are both fun and informative.

Melisse Carr will give a brief look at the relief printing process using the lino-cut as the medium. Today many digital reproductions get labeled “prints” and are not included in gallery exhibits. Lino-cuts, woodcuts and engravings are included as “original prints” and each successful print is numbered and signed by the artist.

She will demonstrate using “found objects”, i.e. common objects that will accept a layer of printing ink and transfer that ink to paper. An activity session might be planned at a later date if there is interest.
