BORDERLAND ARTISTS EXHIBITING AT BONIFAS ARTS CENTER
Three Borderland Arts members are now exhibiting at the Bonifas Arts Center in Escanaba as part of Northern Exposure XXVIII. They are Christina Kionka with two collages entitled “Aspen” and “Dear John”, Tina Murray Anderson with two drawings on wood entitled “Mrs. Terry’s View” and “Trout Lily and Dutchman’s Britches”, and Darlene Strand with a colored pencil drawing entitled “Let’s Call It Home”.
Tina was awarded a Featured Artist Award with her work to be shown at the Curtis, MI Art Center during 2022. Northern Exposure XXVIII runs currently until December 30. The public is invited to attend and can visit their website for open hours. They are closed on Sunday and Monday.
Borderland Arts has a new show at the Braumart in Iron Mountain, MI. Exhibitors include the following artists: Sharon Antonissen, Christina Baal, Christine Burns, Jeff Gurchinoff, Stella Hansen, David Heritsch, Kathy Kuczek, Erin Lehnert, Hannah Linsmeijer, and Joe Santi. There is a variety of media including ceramic, wood, fibers, pen and ink, watercolor, oil, acrylic and photography. The work can be seen as soon as Friday Sept. 10 from 5-8PM, during a scheduled reception for the Origami Project sponsored by the Veterans Administration as part of their suicide prevention awareness programming or on Saturday from 6-9PM and Sunday from 1-3PM. The work will be on exhibit until the end of the year.

We have a wonderful variety of art medium representing our group with just over 30 pieces from 14 participating artists. pottery, metal sculpture, wood working, yarn art, bead work, graphite, oil, acrylic, and photography are all on display at the show!
Featured on the Gallery Wall at the Braumart is the work of Darlene Strand and Terry O’Connor, Gail Stanek and Melisse Carr. Their work represents a variety of media: gouache, watercolor, oil, pen and ink and pastel… studio work and plein air. Due to Covid, a reception has been delayed, but the exhibit can be seen during the regular open hours of the Braumart and during performances that are scheduled.
U.P. Wild Life exhibit at The Bonifas Fine Art Center – Escanaba, MI

Living in the Upper Peninsula provides lots of opportunities to run into wildlife. We have invited artists to share their talents of capturing these creatures that we share the land with and hope you will take a walk through our wild exhibit. We will have wood carvings, paintings, drawings, photographs, and other mediums on display. There will certainly be something for everyone to see.
These seven paintings by Gail Stanek will be on display at the UP Wildlife show.
