The Upper Peninsula’s foremost annual art competition, Northern Exposure, includes the work of two Borderland Arts original members. They made the juried cut and were invited to the exhibit. Gail Stanek of Norway, MI and Darlene Strand, Iron Mountai, MI are back in the show, which runsthrough December 21. The Bonifas Arts Center is at 700 First Avenue South, Escanaba, MI.
Gail has two oil paintings in the show including the award winning Arts Network Prize.
She’s shown here with the painting titled “The Watchman.”
Darlene’s art is a watercolor and pastel creation titled “Seney Swan” from a scene
she first saw at the Seney National Wildlife Refuge in the northeastern U.P.
